ManuSoft UK Limited

History:

ManuSoft UK Limited is a joint venture between the Australian Group that developed the software and markets it world-wide and Alan Matthewman, the Managing Director of the UK & European operation.

The Australian company began as a supplier of DOS-based manufacturing software in the mid-80’s, moving into Real-Time and Windows-Based applications throughout the 1990’s. The success of the package, and the implementation and consultancy resources backing it, have given ManuSoft a commanding position in the Australasian SME marketplace.

Alan Matthewman has over 30 years experience in managing manufacturing operations in the UK and Europe. This has given him a powerful insight into how the ManuSoft philosophy can best be applied in a European environment.

ManuSoft UK launched the Profit Improvement Programme into the UK market in mid 2001. We already have sites operating in a number of industries, including sheet metal fabrication, precision engineering, electronics assembly, forging and tinning & plating. We intend to carry the benefits of our programme to a wider European base by late 2003.

Philosophy:

We believe that “the best way to predict the future... is to create it” and this is mirrored in our Mission Statement:

“Our role is to encourage our clients to believe in their future, and by working in partnership with them, help them to create it”.

We believe that the constant repetition of the belief that “Manufacturing has no future in Britain” is at best profoundly damaging, and at worst will be self-fulfilling. Too many company managers are today driven by cost-cutting to survive rather than managing for prosperity.

We believe that the productivity gap between British Manufacturing and our main global competitors is at least as important at this time as the threat from cheap-labour areas. We believe that the gap can be closed, even reversed, and that this represents a huge opportunity for UK based operations, particularly in the SME sector.

Within our existing client base, both in the UK and elsewhere, we have seen how the application of simple but effective resource control measures, allied to powerful training and support consultancy can enable any organisation to compete and prosper in the global marketplace.
